Donaustation Dürnstein 22

The boat landing stage Dürnstein 22 is located on the left bank of the Danube. The old town of Dürnstein is within easy walking distance. There are also numerous shopping and accommodation options here. Dürnstein, the pearl of the Wachau, is a romantic little town with crenellated walls and towers. The legend of the English king Richard the Lionheart, who mocked the Austrian flag during a crusade and therefore had to languish in the castle dungeon, is omnipresent in the almost traffic-free town. Hotel Schloss Dürnstein was used as a filming location in the popular TV series "Donauprinzessin". Those who climb the ruins of Kuenringerburg Castle are rewarded with a magnificent panoramic view. Nevertheless, it is worth taking a closer look at the former Augustinian canons' monastery with its striking blue church tower. The new permanent exhibition "Discovering the Valuable" invites visitors to immerse themselves in the spiritual program behind the building and to reflect on "The Good - the Beautiful - the True". A slow train chauffeurs you through Dürnstein past the sights. The numerous restaurants and wine taverns invite you to enjoy the regional delicacies and taste the excellent Wachau wines.
