Nestled between Gaisberg and Pfaffenberg lies the small Krems village of Förthof. Here, on the beautiful banks of the Danube, right at the gateway to the Wachau, you will find our FÖRTHOF winery. As a young winery in the Krems Valley ("Kremstal" in German), we cultivate Grüne Veltliner, Riesling and Muskateller on around six hectares. Our vineyards are located in the well-known Steiner vineyards Pfaffenberg, Gaisberg and Kögl, where we recultivate old vineyards in the traditional stone terraces of the region. For us, modernity and tradition are not mutually exclusive. Preserving old vineyards and dry stone walls is a matter close to our hearts: close to nature in the vineyard and with the least possible intervention in the wine cellar, with great dedication and attention to detail.
Gin and fine brandies complement our unique moments of pleasure. Regional is our motto. The result is green walnut brandy made to our own recipe alongside Wachau apricot brandy, Waldviertel quince brandy and sparkling gin.
On Wednesdays (16:00-19:00) and Fridays (15:00-18:00) it's "It's Wine O'Clock!" Cellar master Annika opens her doors for wine sales and tastings. With a lot of love and passion, she tells stories from the vineyard and the cellar and is looking forward to spoiling you with her first vintage. Take a look at our website and find out more about the upcoming dates.
