As a Gothic part of the fortifications of the church of Weißenkirchen, the Teisenhoferhof was extensively extended in 1542: on the one hand by an arcaded courtyard in Renaissance style and on the other by two towers. Today, the complex is one of the most beautiful Renaissance courtyards in the country and is used as a lively meeting place with history, primarily for public and cultural events. This historical setting is also home to the Wachau Museum.

The gallery in the Teisenhoferhof sees itself as a platform for relevant contemporary art. Twice a year we show exhibitions with Austrian and international artists. Various exhibitions are shown alternately in the gallery and old paintings by Johann Nepomuk Geller and Bruno Buresch as well as the beautiful traditional Wachau costume.

Public transportation:
Weißenkirchen train station is 500m from the museum. You can also take the regional bus line 715 from Melk station to the stop "Weißenkirchen/Wachau Donaufähre", which is also 500m from the museum.
