The Schweighofer winery is located in the middle of the famous Wachau wine landscape, in the district of Oberloiben near Dürnstein. The family business has been cultivating its own vineyards in one of Europe's most renowned winegrowing regions for generations - with great care, experience and a close connection to the region.
The focus is on classic Wachau varieties such as Grüne Veltliner and Riesling, which thrive in the sunny terraced vineyards around Oberloiben. The barren primary rock soils, the Pannonian climate and the Danube as a heat reservoir create ideal conditions for fruity, mineral and long-lasting wines.
The vineyards are cultivated using traditional methods, supplemented by modern cellar technology - with the aim of expressing the typicality of the grape varieties and the characteristics of the vineyards in the best possible way.
The winery's range extends from fresh and fruity Federspielen to complex Smaragd wines. The wines are characterized by a clear structure, elegant acidity and good ageing potential - ideal accompaniments to regional cuisine or to enjoy in convivial company.
In addition to sales from the farm, visitors can also taste the wines at the winery's own wine tavern or at an on-site tasting - with a view of the surrounding vineyards and the Danube valley.
