A very special vacation apartment in the historic Dürnstein railroad station has opened its doors to guests - especially families with children who are enthusiastic about trains. The lovingly renovated former train dispatcher's apartment from the imperial era has been converted into accommodation with a railroad connection and offers young and old railroad enthusiasts an extraordinary vacation experience.

With conductor costumes, train waving, a train play table and numerous railroad games, the stay becomes a playful journey of discovery for children. The concept was inspired by the host family's own children, who grew up in the station building - their enthusiasm for the passing trains should now also be tangible for guests.

Family-friendly & car-free access

The vacation apartment is ideally located for a car-free family vacation in the Wachau. It can be reached directly from the Kaiser-Franz-Josef train station in Vienna with a single change in Krems - the train stops practically on the doorstep. There are numerous excursion destinations in the surrounding area that are within easy walking distance: Playgrounds for different age groups, a Danube sandy beach, a natural bathing pond, a pebble beach, climbing and hiking areas, boat trips and an ice cream parlor provide plenty of variety.

Culinary delights & relaxation

In the immediate vicinity, wine taverns and restaurants invite you to stop for a bite to eat - with regional specialties and a cosy atmosphere. Those who prefer to cook for themselves will find everything they need in the fully equipped kitchen of the vacation apartment. Fresh ingredients are available from the nearby bakery or the small supermarket around the corner. The apartment's spacious terrace offers a beautiful view of the Kellerschlössl and the Dürnstein ruins - an ideal place to relax at the end of the day.
