Wine autumn. Grape harvest. Wachau

Lower Austria celebrates its own season with Weinherbst (wine autumn)!
This, the province’s largest series of events around wine lasts from mid-August till the end of November. You are warmly invited to take part in the wine cellar festivities, vineyard walking tours, harvest festivals, new wine tasting sessions, wine christenings and many more colorful, varied, and down-to-earth wine celebrations.

Many wine growers in the Wachau offer comfortable rooms with modern facilities in the middle of the vineyards or with a view of them. Pure relaxation awaits you when the sun sets over the picture-book landscape, and you end the day enjoying a glass of fine local wine.

During the grape harvest, you are welcome to go to the vineyard and help pick or simply watch, as you wish. The wine growers present their multiple award-winning wines at tasting sessions with commentary.

You can discover the highlights of the Wachau on a cycling tour and a ride on a Danube ship.
