The last stage of the Kremstal-Danube long-distance hiking trail is characterized by picturesque nature, impressive castle ruins, and finally urban flair, promising pure variety. The starting point is the wine town of Senftenberg, whose castle ruin already offers a worthwhile detour – the magnificent view over the Kremstal convincingly proves this. Through tranquil forests and steep vineyard terraces, the hike continues via Imbach with its splendid Gothic parish church to another highlight: the Rehberg ruin. Past the Kuhberg and the guesthouse Schwarzalm, the route finally leads to Krems, the tour's destination. There, the cultural offerings invite you to linger: the Kunstmeile Krems, the Wine Experience World Winemakers Krems, or the Lower Austria State Gallery guarantee true cultural pleasures. For those who prefer culinary enjoyment, the many gastronomic establishments in town offer the perfect opportunity to conclude the hike comfortably.
