The former shipmaster's house is around 500 years old and has been run as an inn since 1680. For several generations, the Prankl family has been synonymous with enjoyment in the Krems region. Whether in the inviting parlors, in the idyllic garden or on the terrace with a view of the Danube flowing by - Birgit and Martin Prankl's Wachau inn scores with elegance and style.
The restaurant has been awarded two toques in Gault Millau, two golden forks in Falstaff and one star in A la Carte.
Whether meat, fish, vegetarian or vegan - the excellent kitchen team strives to offer a wide variety of dishes to suit every taste. They mainly use local ingredients. In season, fruit, vegetables and herbs are grown on the premises, while host Martin Prankl collects mushrooms from his secret spots.
