The Kranister guest house is located in the historic "Auf der Burg" district of Weißenkirchen, one of the oldest parts of the picturesque wine-growing village in the Wachau. The building, which is around 500 years old and a listed building, was lovingly restored and opened as a guest house in 2010. The Kranister family also cultivates 2 hectares of vineyards, the grapes of which are marketed by Domäne Wachau.
The accommodation offers a high level of comfort in four double rooms as well as in the "Grüne Veltliner" vacation apartment. All rooms are equipped with furniture made from local woods, underfloor heating, flat-screen TV, minibar, bathroom and separate WC. The apartment also has an open-plan living room with sleeping facilities, an integrated kitchen, a separate bedroom and a walk-in rain shower.
A rich breakfast buffet with regional Wachau specialties and a tea bar are available to guests throughout the day. Gluten- and lactose-free options are also available on request.
The guesthouse is a pet-free establishment in order to maintain hygienic standards as well as to meet the needs of allergy sufferers.
Gästehaus Kranister is ideally located for exploring the Wachau region with its vineyards, hiking trails and cultural sights. Public transport is just a few minutes' walk away, and there are numerous wine taverns and restaurants in the immediate vicinity.
