The new vineyard snail at Himmelreich is a project of the Paudorf village renewal in cooperation with the specially founded working group of winegrowers from Krustetten and Höbenbach. This group transported 2,460m³ of earth to the highest point in Krustetten for the construction of the vineyard snail. A seven-metre-high mound of earth was heaped up above a prefabricated cellar and 700 plants and a 10-season hedge were planted. After around 600 hours of work, a 100-metre-long snail-shaped path now leads to a viewing platform with a magnificent view at 410m above sea level to all parts of Lower Austria. The wine cellar inside can be used for refreshments or wine tasting by appointment with a winegrower.
