In the wine culture cellar in Furth bei Göttweig, you can trace the history of viticulture from the end of feudal rule in the mid-19th century to the 1970s. The rapid technological and social development, which is still continuing, led to a break with the cultural techniques that had been used in viticulture for centuries. This museum has been set up to give visitors an idea of the working methods and equipment used by the predominantly family-run wineries not so long ago.

A vineyard map provides an overview of the wine-growing area around the Göttweiger Berg, while display boards in the cellar provide information about the formation of the loess deposits - the predominant soil in Furth - and their significance for the wine. Information about vineyard work before mechanization gives an idea of the hardships and plagues in the vineyards of our ancestors. The fight against pests, equipment for harvesting and transporting the harvest round off the impression of working methods in the vineyards of the past.

Tying tools and equipment in the cellar, special barrels and containers as well as the topic of bottling show the winegrowers' work in the cellar. In the press house, in addition to the tree press from 1765, all the essential tools used in grape processing are on display. A cellar parlor from the 1960s invites visitors to linger and enjoy a final wine tasting.
