The municipality of Haslau-Maria Ellend in the district of Bruck an der Leitha lies in the middle of the Donau-Auen National Park. A ferry for pedestrians and cyclists leads to the opposite municipality of Orth an der Donau.

Pilgrimage to the church and Lourdes grotto
Maria Ellend is an old Marian pilgrimage site on the Bundesstraße 9 - and is known far beyond its borders for its pilgrimage church to Our Lady of the Rosary. Opposite the church is the romantic Lourdes Grotto: surrounded by a four-hectare wooded park with a Stations of the Cross and several small chapels, the grotto offers enough space for larger celebrations. The pilgrimage park invites visitors to reflect and relax.
